Steps

  1. If the tomatoes are large, peel off the skin first.
  2. Chop onions.
  3. Add olive oil, butter, and onions to a pan.
  4. Sauté the onions until soft and lightly golden.
  5. Add the peeled tomatoes to the pan.
  6. Season with salt.
  7. Cook the tomatoes for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they completely break down into a sauce.
  8. Meanwhile, cook spaghetti according to the package instructions.
  9. Drain the spaghetti and mix it into the tomato sauce.
  10. Add fresh basil and mix gently.
  11. Serve with grated parmesan on top.
