Langoš

Info

Homemade langoš made with yogurt. The dough needs to rise until doubled, then it is shaped into small balls, rested, stretched out, and fried.

Steps

  1. Slightly warm water so it is lukewarm, not hot.
  2. Mix part of the water with sugar and yeast to make a yeast starter. Let it sit until foamy.
  3. In a large bowl, mix plain flour, salt, and yogurt.
  4. Add oil and the yeast starter.
  5. Gradually add the remaining water and knead into a soft dough.
  6. Cover the dough and let it rise until doubled in size.
  7. Divide the dough into small balls.
  8. Let the balls rest for about 15 minutes.
  9. Heat oil for frying in a pan.
  10. Stretch each dough ball into a flat langoš shape.
  11. Fry each langoš in hot oil until golden on both sides.

Serve warm. Good toppings are ketchup and grated cheese.
