Homemade langoš made with yogurt. The dough needs to rise until doubled, then it is shaped into small balls, rested, stretched out, and fried.
Steps
- Slightly warm water so it is lukewarm, not hot.
- Mix part of the water with sugar and yeast to make a yeast starter. Let it sit until foamy.
- In a large bowl, mix plain flour, salt, and yogurt.
- Add oil and the yeast starter.
- Gradually add the remaining water and knead into a soft dough.
- Cover the dough and let it rise until doubled in size.
- Divide the dough into small balls.
- Let the balls rest for about 15 minutes.
- Heat oil for frying in a pan.
- Stretch each dough ball into a flat langoš shape.
- Fry each langoš in hot oil until golden on both sides.
Serve warm. Good toppings are ketchup and grated cheese.
